Retreats

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV)“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
This Scripture serves as the foundation for every retreat, program, and Bible study we create. Our goal is not to present personal opinions about how things should be, but to remain firmly grounded in what God’s Word says about each concept and topic presented.

  • We encourage you to hold us accountable by prayerfully comparing all materials to God’s Holy Word. Copy, paste, adapt, and personalize the content as needed to align with God’s purpose for your Women’s Ministry. Ask God to reveal Scriptures that will speak directly to your group, and allow the discernment of the Holy Spirit to guide you.
  • Multiple Bible translations are used throughout the materials. Feel free to adjust the translations as needed to best meet the understanding and spiritual needs of the women God is calling to attend.

General Information

  • These retreats are designed to be presented in a single day lasting approximately 5–7 hours, depending on the amount of time devoted to fellowship, discussion, worship, meals, and breaks. However, each retreat may also be divided into smaller 1–2 hour sessions if desired.
  • All retreat materials are intended to be experienced in a group setting rather than as an individual study. Fellowship, corporate learning, hands-on activities, discussion, and shared prayer provide meaningful multi-sensory opportunities that often deepen understanding and retention. In today’s increasingly isolated digital culture, Women’s Ministries are uniquely positioned to offer both biblical encouragement and authentic personal connection.
  • These retreats require a leader or leadership team. If desired, different individuals may lead separate sessions based on the gifts and needs of your group.
  • The Leader’s Guide also serves as the planning guide and includes the complete teaching text, supply lists, preparation notes, and retreat-specific suggestions.
  • The Participant’s Guide includes discussion questions, condensed teaching content, activities, reflection opportunities, and additional participant materials. Adapt the Participant’s Guide as needed for your ministry setting.
  • Fellowship is a vital component of every retreat. Be intentional in allowing ample time for women to connect, share, encourage one another, and embrace their shared faith in Christ.
  • Customize your retreat according to God’s leading by copying, pasting, adapting, or expanding the materials. Add additional activities, discussion prompts, take-home items, worship elements, or personal touches that fit your ministry and audience.
  • Create your own invitations, announcements, and promotional materials using Scripture Sisters graphics and retreat content. All graphics are original, properly licensed, purchased for public use, or otherwise identified for appropriate copyright usage.
  • If printing materials double-sided, we recommend using 28# paper to help prevent bleed-through or ghosting between pages.
  • If you need materials in an alternate format, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
  • Most retreats include options for activities and take-home items. We understand that Women’s Ministries often work within limited budgets, so every effort has been made to offer suggestions across a range of price points. Many items may also be donated or adapted to reduce expenses. By offering Scripture Sisters materials free of charge beyond personal printing costs, it is our prayer that these retreats remain accessible and affordable for ministries of all sizes.

Bathe Your Retreat in Prayer

  • Before selecting retreat materials, ask God for wisdom, discernment, and direction. Listen carefully to what He places upon your heart for the women in your ministry.
  • As you prepare for the retreat, consider forming a prayer team or asking trusted individuals to come alongside you for encouragement, spiritual support, and prayer coverage. Satan often attempts to create distractions, discouragement, and obstacles during ministry preparation, so seek God’s protection before the enemy gains a foothold.
  • Pray intentionally over every aspect of the retreat, including preparations, leaders, team members, publicity efforts, spirit-led teaching materials, and especially the women God is calling to attend. Each participant may arrive carrying unique burdens, questions, struggles, or spiritual needs. Pray that God will remove obstacles, soften hearts, and prevent anything that would hinder them from attending or fully receiving what He desires for them.

TREE Faith

Transformed~Rooted~Equipped~Eternal FAITH

Theme verse: Psalm 1:3 “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season.” (NIV)

This retreat invites women into a meaningful journey of spiritual growth using the impactful imagery of trees—rooted, growing, pruned, and ultimately bearing fruit—to illustrate God’s transforming work in our lives. Through Scriptures such as John 15:1–8, Hebrews 12:6, and 2 Corinthians 3:18, participants will explore how God lovingly prunes what hinders us, refines our
hearts through seasons of waiting, and cultivates deeper faith toward maturity. Each session offers practical application through teachings, discussion, hands-on activities, and a reflective moment at the end of each session—helping women recognize God’s purpose and presence in all seasons. By the end of the retreat, participants will be encouraged to remain firmly rooted in Christ, trust Him in the pruning and waiting, and be equipped to embrace a life in eternity that bears fruit to reflect His glory.

Passport to Faith ~ A Personal Journey Around God’s World

Theme verse: Psalm 121:8 “The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go…” (NLT)

This travel retreat is designed to maximize connections between the women by providing ample time to share at each stop. It covers topics that most of us know but often need reminders for our faith walk such as riding the roller coaster of life, resting, personal missions, and building our faith. Each 45 minute stop of the itinerary includes 8-10 minutes of teaching and the rest in discussion and activity. It is not a deep dive into Scripture but rather a sampling of topics to stimulate growth and connection.

This is not a “read the lecture then answer questions” type of retreat. It is conversational and relational with activities, a firm foundation in God’s Word for growth, time for reflection, and fun games.

Lessons from the Ark: Faith that Floats

Theme verse: Ephesians 6:16 “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” (ESV)

This retreat include teachings, object lessons, and activities to build our faith, based on teachings from the story of Noah and the ark. Faith starts small but it grows with each act of faith. It is built upon Scripture but it takes intentional action to stay the course. Noah’s faith led him to build the ark before the rain started to fall and held him through the flood.

The ark didn’t have a rudder or any navigation equipment. What does real faith look like to give ourselves completely over to God in the storm? Who or what is your rudder? Where does that faith start? How does it grow? How do we build our faith in a counter-cultural world? These questions and more will lead the ladies toward a faith that floats.

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

Following the Way, Living the Truth, Embracing the Life

Theme Verse: John 14:6 “Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’” (NLT)

The heart behind this retreat is both simple and profound: to remind us who Jesus truly is, recognize that He is worthy of our wholehearted devotion, and acknowledge our deep need for Him. As we do, we are invited to examine our lives honestly and draw closer to Him with greater intention. For many of us, the pace and pressures of life have dimmed our awareness of the beauty and precious gift of salvation, yet the truth remains—salvation is not merely meaningful; it is transformational. This retreat is not designed to pressure anyone or measure spiritual performance, but to provide a warm, welcoming space where sisterhood flourishes as we encourage one another, embrace our shared faith, and celebrate our risen Savior together. Because every faith journey includes seasons of questioning, growth, and renewed commitment, each session also includes a “Still Deciding” application to welcome seekers and provide meaningful reflection for every participant.

At its core, this retreat is built on both reflection and connection. Through quiet introspection, honest conversation, and shared experiences, women are encouraged to grow deeper in their faith.

Manna from Heaven

Discovering and Gathering God’s provision in Every Season

Theme Verse: Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)

This retreat invites women to explore the faithful provision of God
through the biblical picture of manna in the wilderness. Just as God
provided daily sustenance for the Israelites, He continues to provide
exactly what we need in every season — whether through strength,
wisdom, growth, or peace. Through reflection, Scripture, and discussion,
participants will learn to seek God in prayer, recognize His provision,
embrace what He gives, and respond with gratitude. This journey
encourages a deeper trust in God’s daily care and a renewed awareness
that His presence and provision are already at work in our lives.
