Women’s Ministry Programming

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV)“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
This Scripture serves as the foundation for every retreat, program, and Bible study we create. Our goal is not to present personal opinions about how things should be, but to remain firmly grounded in what God’s Word says about each concept and topic presented.

  • We encourage you to hold us accountable by prayerfully comparing all materials to God’s Holy Word. Copy, paste, adapt, and personalize the content as needed to align with God’s purpose for your Women’s Ministry. Ask God to reveal Scriptures that will speak directly to your group, and allow the discernment of the Holy Spirit to guide you.
  • Multiple Bible translations are used throughout the materials. Feel free to adjust the translations as needed to best meet the understanding and spiritual needs of the women God is calling to attend.

General Information

  • These programs are designed to be presented in a single day lasting approximately 5–7 hours, depending on the amount of time devoted to fellowship, hands-on experiences, worship, meals, and breaks. However, each retreat may also be divided into smaller 2-4 hour sessions if desired.
  • All program materials are designed to be experienced in a group to not only learn from each other but to embrace each other. In today’s increasingly isolated digital culture, Women’s Ministries are uniquely positioned to offer both biblical encouragement and authentic personal connection.
  • These programs require a leader or leadership team. Different individuals may lead separate sessions based on the gifts and needs of your group. Use this program as an opportunity to reach into your congregation for women with unique talents that may or may not be a part of your regular attendees or pull from your community to grow your ministry.
  • Fellowship is a vital component of every program. Be intentional in allowing ample time for women to connect, share, encourage one another, and embrace their shared faith in Christ.
  • Customize your program according to God’s leading by copying, pasting, adapting, or expanding the materials. Add additional projects, targets, fellowship space, worship elements, or personal touches that fit your ministry and audience.
  • Create your own invitations, announcements, and promotional materials using Scripture Sisters graphics and retreat content. All graphics are original, properly licensed, purchased for public use, or otherwise identified for appropriate copyright usage.
  • If printing materials double-sided, we recommend using 28# paper to help prevent bleed-through or ghosting between pages.
  • If you need materials in an alternate format, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
  • These projects have costs or require a donation list. We understand that Women’s Ministries often work within limited budgets, so every effort has been made to offer suggestions across a range of price points. Many items may also be donated or adapted to reduce expenses. By offering Scripture Sisters materials free of charge beyond personal printing costs, it is our prayer that these retreats remain accessible and affordable for ministries of all sizes.

Bathe Your Retreat in Prayer

  • Before selecting your programming, ask God for wisdom, discernment, and direction. Listen carefully to what He places upon your heart for the women in your ministry.
  • As you prepare for the program, consider forming a prayer team or asking trusted individuals to come alongside you for encouragement, spiritual support, and prayer coverage. Satan often attempts to create distractions, discouragement, and obstacles during ministry preparation, so seek God’s protection before the enemy gains a foothold.
  • Pray intentionally over every aspect of the retreat, including preparations, leaders, team members, publicity efforts, spirit-led projects, the missions being served, and especially the women God is calling to attend. Each participant may arrive carrying unique burdens, questions, struggles, or spiritual needs. Pray that God will remove obstacles, soften hearts, and prevent anything that would hinder them from attending or fully receiving what He desires for them.

Women’s Ministry Service Faire Learning and Serving Together

Theme Verse: Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ “ (NIV)

A Service Faire draws together women in service to others while they encourage each other and learn from each other.  Using the centuries old traditions of women serving the kingdom, the Faire uses prayer, planning, Scriptures, and God’s leading for His purposes. The day is primarily a “hand-on” experience but it is bathed in prayer and blessed by fellowship.

This retreat description is a collection of notes, comments, and suggestions.  You can tailor your Faire to your Women’s Ministries personal needs and use only what God puts on your heart.

The Blessing Tree

Theme Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build
one another up, just as you are doing.
” (ESV)

The Blessing Tree (or Blessing Basket, Bowl, or Box) is a simple yet impactful ministry idea designed to encourage and connect women within your church family. The concept is easy to organize and has the potential to bless not only the women actively involved in women’s ministry, but also women throughout your entire church fellowship. The process is straightforward. Prepare individually sealed envelopes containing the name and mailing address of each participating woman. Invite the women to blindly draw one or two envelopes, take them home, and prepare an encouraging handwritten note or card for the woman listed inside. The completed cards are then returned to the church for mailing. A “blind draw” helps ensure every woman has the opportunity to receive encouragement.
